href="target2.html">Almogía, &quot;La Bonita&quot;</a>, como la llamaron los árabes, está ubicada en un punto estratégico al oeste de los Montes de Málaga, lo que ha resultado relevante desde la antigüedad como lo revelan los restos de calzadas romanas halladas en su entorno y otros vestigios de diferentes culturas.<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin'>Se llega desde Málaga por la carretera del Puerto de la Torre A-7075 (23 km) o por la autovía A-45 desviándose en Casabermeja en dirección a Villanueva de la Concepción. Desde Antequera se puede tomar la carretera hacia El Torcal siguiendo hasta Villanueva de la Concepción.<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin'>El paisaje está dominado por lomas generalmente alargadas y de formas redondeadas, que presentan la altitud máxima del municipio en el <a href="target14.html">pico de Santi Petri</a> (797 metros). La mayor parte de las lomas están ocupadas por matorrales, almendros y olivos, aunque presentan restos del encinar y alcornocal que antiguamente cubría estos montes. El paisaje ofrece parajes de notable singularidad en los cerros y garganta de los Retamares, y espléndidas panorámicas desde la pista forestal que va a Santi-Petri y que es la que tomaremos en nuestro recorrido.<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><b style='mso-bidi-font-weight:normal'><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin'>ASPECTOS HISTÓRICOS y CULTURALES<o:p></o:p></span></b></p> <p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin'>En cuanto al origen de la denominación Almogía, todos los historiadores coinciden en afirmar que es remoto, y existen dos teorías, fundamentalmente. Diego Vázquez Otero, lo relaciona con la tribu de los al-mexíes, mientras que Asín Palacio afirma que quiere decir &quot;la hermosa&quot;. En cualquier caso, lo cierto es que el núcleo urbano de Almogía fue un enclave importante de la dominación árabe. Durante la revuelta de Omar ben Hafsún contra los omeyas cordobeses, la fortaleza de Sancti Petri (Hins-Xan-Biter) desempeñó un papel fundamental en la defensa de Bobastro. La Villa se entregó a los Reyes Católicos en mayo de 1487, quienes nombraron alcaide cristiano al capitán Mosén Pedro Santisteban. Más tarde, los moriscos de Almogía participaron en la rebelión de 1570. Al ser derrotados, la mayoría de ellos fueron expulsados, quedando despobladas las tierras que fueron repobladas con cristianos viejos procedentes de las poblaciones de Teba y Antequera, en aquel entonces pertenecientes al reino de Sevilla. Durante la Guerra de la Independencia, Almogía y su castillo fueron invadidos por las tropas francesas que los destruyeron en su huída, como represalia y venganza.<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin'>En el aspecto cultural, Almogía es municipio donde se bailan y cantan los </span><b style='mso-bidi-font-weight:normal'><i style='mso-bidi-font-style:normal'><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;color:#00B050'>verdiales</span></i></b><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin'>, antiguos bailes de origen no muy bien conocido, que presentan variaciones según la comarca de los Montes en donde nos encontremos. Almogía se considera la cuna de los verdiales. La Fiesta de los Verdiales tiene lugar a principios de Mayo en la ermita de las tres cruces. También hay un Festival de Verdiales a primeros de agosto.<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><b style='mso-bidi-font-weight:normal'><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin'>MONUMENTOS<o:p></o:p></span></b></p> <p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin'>Este municipio alberga restos de todas las civilizaciones que han ocupado la Península Ibérica: iberos, fenicios, romanos y árabes. El pueblo surge como asentamiento humano situado en las faldas del castillo, posiblemente construido en el siglo XI. Destacan monumentos como la Torre de la Vela, último vestigio del castillo, la iglesia parroquial Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, erigida sobre una antigua mezquita a principios del siglo XVI, ermita del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, que se remonta al siglo XVI, capilla del Santo Cristo, ermita de las tres cruces, del siglo XVIII y la fuente de la Hortezuela, del siglo XIX.<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin'>Encontramos restos arqueológicos prehistóricos en el cerro Tréberes, Cerro el Cabrero, Cortijo Chirino y Venta el Fraile. Restos romanos se encuentran en el cerro el Cabrero, Cortijo Chirino y cortijo Mosanpedro, y árabes en la torre de la Vela mencionada, torres atalayas en cerro del Cabrero y Fuente amarga y Monte Santi Petri.<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><b style='mso-bidi-font-weight:normal'><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin'>ITINERARIO<o:p></o:p></span></b></p> <p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin'>El recorrido hasta la cima de Santi Petri tiene unos 6,5 km. Partimos del cruce que hay en el km 13 de la MA-3403, una vez atravesado Almogía, en dirección a Villanueva de la Concepción. A la izquierda <a href="target4.html">sale un carril</a> que podemos seguir en coche, en bicicleta de montaña o andando. Hay un <a href="target3.html">cartel indicativo</a> de la distancia y tiempo necesarios para el recorrido. El carril aparece en los mapas como </span><b style='mso-bidi-font-weight:normal'><i style='mso-bidi-font-style:normal'><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;color:#00B050'>Camino de Tomás Martín</span></i></b><i style='mso-bidi-font-style:normal'><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin'>. </span></i><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin'>Para los que quieran hacer parte del camino en coche, éste se puede dejar a 3,5 km del comienzo del carril en una zona ensanchada sobre una loma con inmejorables vistas (ver señales en el mapa del itinerario). Incluso se podría seguir adelante en vehículo pero la ruta se haría demasiado corta. El carril comienza siendo asfaltado, después es de tierra y en algunos tramos tiene baches algo profundos, aunque cualquier vehículo puede recorrerlo siempre que no haya llovido en los días anteriores.<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin'>Hay unas <a href="target12.html">bonitas vistas</a> en todo el recorrido pero al principio observamos más bien la<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  </span>actividad humana (<a href="target6.html">cortijos</a>, <a href="target0.html">cultivos</a>, <a href="target13.html">ganado</a>, casas en ruinas& ). A los 3 km de recorrido entramos en un </span><i style='mso-bidi-font-style: normal'><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin;mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;color:#00B050'>alcornocal en regresión.</span></i><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin'> Observaremos la <a href="target5.html">vegetación típica de la zona que acompaña a los alcornoques</a>. Un poco más adelante, en un collado con cierta amplitud, es donde podemos dejar los coches. A medida que avanzamos subiendo suavemente, vamos viendo al fondo <a href="target15.html">la cumbre de Santi Petri</a>. A unos 2,5 km del alcornocal encontramos una vereda muy empinada que nos lleva hasta la cumbre pero también podemos seguir el carril durante algo menos de 1 km hasta lo alto de un pequeño cerro y en una curva asciende a la izquierda una pista algo menos empinada que la anterior que nos lleva hacia la </span><b style='mso-bidi-font-weight:normal'><i style='mso-bidi-font-style:normal'><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;color:#00B050'>cima de Santi Petri </span></i></b><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin'>(796 m), con una alambrada que respeta el <a href="target19.html">vértice geodésico</a>. <span style='mso-spacerun:yes'> </span>Desde aquí podemos obtener una <a href="target17.html">panorámica</a> de 360º.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  </span>Llevad un mapa de la zona y podréis distinguir <a href="target28.html">El Torcal</a>, Las Cabras, Sierra del Codo, Camarolos, Los Montes, las Sierras de Tejeda y Almijara, el monte San Antón, la bahía de Málaga, la Costa, Alhaurín y su cantera, Cártama, Coín y su cantera, Monda y Sierra Alpujata, Sierra de las Nieves, Casarabonela, Álora, Camorro Alto& En una pequeña ladera al lado de la cima quedan escasos <a href="target18.html">restos de lo que fue una atalaya árabe</a>. <o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;line-height:150%'><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin'>La vuelta se hace por el mismo sitio pero en nuestro caso <a href="target20.html">descendimos</a> por la pista que baja por el lado contrario al de subida, al lado de una valla metálica, hasta un cortijo y ahí se sigue el carril que conecta con el que bordea Santi Petri. Así se pueden observar <a href="target21.html">otros paisajes diferentes</a> (barrancos, cauces de arroyos& ). No hay que equivocarse en el camino de vuelta al llegar a un <a href="target26.html">cruce amplio</a>, hay que seguir por el carril de la izquierda. Cerca del comienzo de la subida a la cima hay <a href="target22.html">materiales pizarrosos</a> con algunos<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  </span>asperones y conglomerados y <a href="target25.html">afloramientos de cuarcitas</a>. Destacaremos el <a href="target8.html">alcornocal en regresión</a>, donde hemos dejado los coches, con ejemplares viejos y algunos de porte grande.
